Epik High + Woosung @ Fillmore // 03.23.22
Following the pandemic hiatus, iconic Korean group EPIK HIGH set out on their 2022 “EPIK HIGH Is Here Tour “ to promote their most recent album release, “Epik High Is Here 下, Pt. 2”. They held 29 shows across North America, ending with incredible performances at Coachella – their third time invited (and second time performing) for the prominent festival.
WooSung, a multi-talented indie artist who many know as the vocalist/guitarist for popular Korean pop-rock group The Rose, kicked off the evening with a rousing solo performance. He showcased sultry dance moves and memorable lyrics from his recent album, “Genre”, and even teased a new song, “Phase Me” from his upcoming EP release, “Moth” – scheduled to drop on May 13, followed by his recently announced “Moth EP Showcase Tour” across Europe and North America. At one point during his set the house lighting failed and everything went dark, but fans immediately pulled out their phones and lit up the stage, encouraging WooSung to continue on with the improvised mood lighting. Despite the small mishap, he wasted no time heating up the atmosphere in the sold-out Fillmore venue, leaving fans thrumming with excitement over his impressive performance.
Anticipation palpable as they hit the stage, EPIK HIGH took fans on a captivating and nostalgic journey with a dynamic setlist comprised of popular tracks from across the years. Playing an array of songs that both new and long-standing fans could appreciate, they had everyone dancing and singing along to the well-known lyrics throughout the entire show. Every heart-felt MC delivery was well received, and the crowd enjoyed cooling down with EPIK HIGH’s signature water throwing moments during the show. After this energetic and endorphin-inducing performance, fans are more than ready for them to return again this year.
