Iconic R&B singer and entertainer, Usher, kicked off his highly anticipated 2024 Past Present Future Tour in DC, playing a two night sold-out show at the Capital One Arena. The tour follows a successful 2023 Las Vegas residency, as well as an exciting Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year. It has been many years since Usher embarked on a full tour, and with a robust two hour setlist, he took fans on a well crafted journey through his past discography, present self, and future dreams.
Performing on an intricate multi-level stage, Usher surprised fans throughout the night with a theatrical performance that included highlights like a live band and DJs, talented backup dancers, a roller-skate segment, multiple outfit changes, futuristic video recordings, nostalgic clips from the past, and much more. His set list included fan-favorites such as “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” “U Remind Me,” “Yeah!,” “Burn,” and “Confessions Part II.” He also took the crowd way back to the beginning of his career with hits like “My Way,” and “You Make Me Wanna…,” and then peppered in some of his newest tracks from the recent studio album, Coming Home, such as “Kissing Strangers,” and “BIG.”
Needless to say Usher put on a thrilling, must-see show that was full of fun and nostalgia, and well worth the wait!
